Adelphi

Independent Bottler, Scotland · 1826'den beri

Adelphi is one of Scotland's most respected independent bottlers, with origins tracing back to 1826 when an Adelphi Distillery first operated in Glasgow. The distillery closed in 1902, but the name was revived in the 1990s by Charles MacLean and Timothy Morrison, reborn as a dedicated independent bottler committed to showcasing whisky in its most honest form. Adelphi bottles exclusively at cask strength, without chill-filtration and without artificial colouring — a philosophy that lets the spirit speak for itself. Each release draws from a single cask, meaning no two expressions are identical; every bottle is a portrait of a particular moment in wood and time. Casks are carefully selected from distilleries across Scotland — delicate Speysiders, maritime Highlanders, peat-drenched Islayers — each chosen to reflect Adelphi's exacting standards. Beyond its bottling work, the company has also established Ardnamurchan Distillery on the remote Scottish peninsula of the same name, producing both Highland malt and peated expressions that are gaining well-deserved recognition. Adelphi represents the quiet confidence of letting exceptional whisky find its own voice.
