Undercrown was born in 2011 from the hands and palates of the factory workers at Drew Estate's La Gran Fabrica in Nicaragua. The story goes that the master blenders and rollers crafted this blend for their own personal enjoyment — a cigar they would smoke during their own leisure time, without the pressures of commercial expectation. Drawing a direct lineage from the acclaimed Liga Privada family, Undercrown delivers a remarkably similar smoking experience at a more accessible price point. The blend features a Costa Rican Habano Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, accompanied by a binder and filler composed of Nicaraguan and Mexican tobaccos. The result is a full-bodied smoke rich in dark espresso, bittersweet chocolate, and earthy undertones, with a complexity that rewards slow, attentive smoking. The name itself speaks to authenticity — beneath the crown, the true craftsmanship resides. Over the years, Undercrown has expanded into several expressions, including the Undercrown Shade and Sun Grown variations, each exploring different facets of its core tobacco heritage while maintaining the honest, workshop spirit of the original.
