GlenRothes is a distinguished Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distillery founded in 1879 in the town of Rothes, drawing its water from the Rothes Burn that runs nearby. From its earliest days, the distillery established a reputation for producing richly fruited, creamy malts that became highly sought after as a component in prestigious blended Scotch whiskies. The hallmark of GlenRothes expressions is a lush interplay of ripe stone fruits — peach, apricot — complemented by vanilla sweetness, warming spice, and a silky, full-bodied texture that lingers on the palate. For much of its modern history, the brand was closely associated with Berry Bros. & Rudd, the venerable London wine and spirits merchant, whose meticulous cask selection philosophy left a lasting imprint on GlenRothes' character. In 2017, ownership transferred to Beam Suntory, ushering in a new era while preserving the core identity of the spirit.
