Glen Ord Distillery was established in 1838 in Muir of Ord, a small town situated in the fertile Black Isle peninsula of the Northern Highlands of Scotland. One of the oldest distilleries in the region, Glen Ord has passed through several ownerships over its long history and is now part of the Diageo portfolio. The distillery is perhaps best known internationally through its 'Singleton of Glen Ord' expression, which has garnered exceptional popularity across Southeast Asia and Taiwan, making it one of the best-selling single malts in the region. Glen Ord is among the few Scottish distilleries that maintain their own floor maltings on site, reflecting a commitment to traditional craft. The spirit produced here is characteristically smooth and approachable, offering layers of ripe fruit, honeyed sweetness, toffee, and gentle nuttiness. The rich, fertile soils of the Ord Valley have long supported barley cultivation, lending the distillery a sense of place deeply rooted in the Highland landscape.
