Torabhaig Distillery rose from the ruins of a historic 19th-century farm steading on the Isle of Skye, breathing new life into a landscape long steeped in legend and solitude. Opening in 2017, it became the second single malt producer on Skye, joining the iconic Talisker in giving the island a richer whisky identity. The careful restoration of the old stone buildings speaks to a philosophy that honours heritage while embracing craftsmanship. Torabhaig's spirit is defined by a measured, approachable peatiness — smoke that does not overwhelm but rather weaves through layers of citrus, dark chocolate and coastal brine. The inaugural Legacy Series, featuring expressions such as Allt Gleann, demonstrated that even in its earliest years this distillery was capable of producing whisky of notable character and complexity. Each bottling tells a chapter in the story of a place where ancient peat bogs, Atlantic winds and slow island time converge into something quietly remarkable.
