Tomintoul

Speyside, Scotland · 1965'den beri

Tomintoul Distillery was established in 1965 near the village of Tomintoul, one of the highest villages in the Scottish Highlands, nestled in the Cairngorm Mountains at an elevation of approximately 345 metres above sea level. This makes it one of the highest distilleries in Scotland, a distinction that lends a certain quiet pride to its identity. Now operating under Angus Dundee Distillers and part of the Ballindalloch Estate, Tomintoul has earned the affectionate nickname "The Gentle Dram" — a title that speaks directly to its unhurried, approachable character. The whisky presents itself with pale gold hues, offering aromas of fresh meadow flowers, vanilla, honeyed apple, and a whisper of spice. On the palate, it moves with soft grace, never demanding attention yet always rewarding it. Tomintoul represents the more contemplative side of Speyside — a dram that invites reflection rather than spectacle, making it equally suited to the curious newcomer and the seasoned enthusiast seeking a moment of calm.
