Distileri
Teaninich
Highlands, Scotland · 1817'den beri
Teaninich Distillery was established in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro in the town of Alness, near Inverness in the Northern Highlands of Scotland. One of the region's oldest surviving distilleries, it has endured through centuries of change in the Scotch whisky industry. Now owned and operated by Diageo, Teaninich underwent significant expansion in the early 1970s, transforming into a largely industrial-scale operation with a unique mash processing system that sets its production apart. The resulting spirit is distinctive: grassy, herbal, and lightly spiced, with hints of fresh citrus and a subtle smokiness that lingers gently on the palate. Though rarely bottled as a widely available official single malt — most of its output contributes to blends — the distillery appears occasionally in Diageo's Flora & Fauna series and special releases. Independent bottlers have also brought select casks to light, making Teaninich a quiet favourite among dedicated collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate understated Highland character.
