Strathmill

Speyside, Scotland · 1891'den beri

Strathmill Distillery was founded in 1891 in Keith, a small town nestled in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. Originally established as a grain mill, the site was converted into a distillery and has since quietly contributed to the region's rich whisky heritage. Now owned by Diageo, Strathmill has long served as a key component in blended Scotches, most notably the J&B blend, and as such its single malt expressions have remained relatively rare over the decades. The distillery is one of the few remaining in Scotland to use traditional worm tub condensers, a method that imparts a distinctively heavy, oily texture to the spirit, adding depth and complexity that sets it apart from lighter Speyside contemporaries. Expect floral and fruity aromas layered with gentle spice, cereal sweetness and a subtle nuttiness. Independent bottlers have occasionally shone a light on its character, rewarding those curious enough to seek it out. Strathmill is, in many ways, the quiet craftsman of Speyside — understated, reliable and worthy of far greater attention than it typically receives.
