Spey is a single malt Scotch whisky brand drawing from the deep heritage of the Speyside region, nestled alongside the iconic River Spey in the Scottish Highlands. The Speyside Distillery, upon which Spey is built, was conceived as early as 1956 but did not reach full operational capacity until the 1990s, making it one of Scotland's more modern distilling operations in an otherwise ancient landscape. The Spey brand itself emerged as a distinct expression of the distillery's craft in the early 2000s. True to Speyside's hallmark style, Spey whiskies are celebrated for their fruit-forward, floral and gently sweet character, shaped primarily through maturation in ex-bourbon and sherry casks. Expressions such as Tay, Trafarloch and Chairman's Choice reflect the range's ambition to balance approachability with complexity, offering a compelling entry point into classic Speyside flavours while rewarding more experienced palates with layered depth.
