Royal Brackla

Highland, Scotland · 1812'den beri

Royal Brackla is one of Scotland's most historically distinguished distilleries, founded in 1812 by William Fraser in the Highland region near the River Nairn. Its most celebrated distinction came in 1835, when King William IV granted the distillery a Royal Warrant — making it the first Scotch whisky producer ever to receive such an honour and earning the title 'The King's Own Whisky.' Royal warrants were subsequently conferred by Queen Victoria and King Edward VII, cementing the distillery's regal legacy. Today, Royal Brackla operates under John Dewar & Sons, part of the Bacardi portfolio. The single malts produced here are celebrated for their elegantly fruited and floral character, shaped in part by extended maturation in first-fill oloroso sherry casks. These expressions deliver dried fruit, warming spice, and a gentle tannic grip, while bourbon cask-matured bottlings lean into vanilla, pear, and honeyed sweetness. Royal Brackla stands as a living reminder that fine whisky and royal patronage have long been intertwined in Scottish heritage.
