Roseisle Distillery stands on the Moray coastline of Speyside, having been established by Diageo in 2009 on the grounds of a historic malting facility. It ranks among the largest single malt distilleries in Scotland, both in terms of still capacity and annual output. What sets Roseisle apart from many of its Speyside contemporaries is its dual production philosophy: the distillery is capable of crafting both a heavier, more fruit-forward style and a lighter, floral character depending on the distillation parameters applied. For many years, its spirit flowed almost exclusively into Diageo's blended Scotch and blended malt portfolios, most notably Johnnie Walker. More recently, limited single malt expressions have begun to emerge, offering enthusiasts a rare opportunity to encounter Roseisle in its unblended form. The distillery also stands as a landmark in sustainable whisky production, employing biomass boilers and heat recovery systems that significantly reduce its carbon footprint. It represents a confident, forward-looking chapter in the Speyside story.
