Distileri
Rosebank
Lowlands, Scotland · 1840'den beri
Rosebank stands as one of the most beloved and lamented distilleries in Scottish whisky history. Situated in Camelon, near Falkirk, in the heart of the Lowlands, it was established in 1840 and became synonymous with a delicate, floral style of single malt achieved through triple distillation — a relatively rare practice in Scotland. This method imparted an exceptional lightness and elegance to the spirit, earning Rosebank the informal title of 'King of the Lowlands.' The distillery was controversially closed in 1993 by United Distillers, a decision that left a void in the Lowlands whisky landscape. Surviving bottlings from independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail have since become highly sought after by collectors worldwide. In 2017, Ian Macleod Distillers acquired the site and embarked on an ambitious restoration project. The revival of Rosebank represents not merely a commercial endeavour but a genuine effort to resurrect a whisky tradition of remarkable finesse and historical significance.
