Romeo y Julieta was founded in Havana in 1875 by Spanish entrepreneur Íñigo Álvarez de Toledo, and it has since grown into one of the most celebrated Cuban cigar brands in the world. Drawing its name from Shakespeare's timeless tragedy, the brand carries a romantic spirit that extends well beyond mere imagery — it is embedded in the very character of its tobacco. Under the stewardship of Manolo García in the early twentieth century, the brand reached extraordinary heights, counting Winston Churchill among its most devoted admirers. Churchill's preference for a particular large-ring gauge vitola became so legendary that the format now bears his name: the Churchill. Crafted from carefully selected Vuelta Abajo leaves, Romeo y Julieta cigars offer a refined profile of floral and creamy notes underpinned by gentle spice and cedar.
