Rampur Single Malt emerges from the foothills of the Himalayas in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, produced at the distillery of Radico Khaitan, one of India's oldest and most established spirits companies, founded in 1943. What sets Rampur apart is its remarkable terroir: extreme temperature swings between sweltering summers that reach 45°C and cool Himalayan winters accelerate the interaction between spirit and oak dramatically, compressing years of maturation into a fraction of the time required in Scotland. The whisky is crafted from India's six-row barley, distilled in traditional pot stills, and aged in a variety of cask types — American bourbon, Indian wine, and beyond. The result is a whisky of tropical character, layered with ripe mango, stone fruit, gentle spice, and a floral softness that speaks unmistakably of its origin. Rampur has earned recognition at major international competitions, helping to establish India not merely as a growing market for whisky, but as a genuine producer of world-class single malt.
