Legent is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon that stands as a genuine cross-cultural collaboration between two whisky worlds. The project was born from the partnership of Fred Noe, seventh-generation master distiller at Jim Beam, and Shinji Fukuyo, chief blender at Suntory — a meeting of American Bourbon heritage and Japanese blending philosophy. What makes Legent distinctive is its multi-cask approach: a base Kentucky Straight Bourbon is married with portions aged in wine and sherry casks, a technique more commonly associated with Japanese whisky craftsmanship. The result is a bourbon of uncommon complexity — layers of caramel, dark fruit, honey and toasted oak that interplay with a notable softness on the palate. The finish is warm and lingering, gently spiced. Legent was officially launched in 2019 and quickly drew attention from enthusiasts who appreciate innovation that respects tradition.
