Launched in 2012, the brand takes its name from a piece of bourbon folklore surrounding John E. Fitzgerald, a treasury agent in the 1800s rumored to have pilfered samples from the finest barrels in the rickhouse — a charming act of 'larceny' that lent the whiskey its evocative identity. By substituting wheat for rye in the grain mash bill, Larceny achieves a notably softer and rounder profile compared to spicier, rye-forward bourbons. The nose opens with caramel, honey wheat, and a gentle nod to fresh pastry, while the palate unfolds with layers of vanilla, toffee, and light toasted oak.
