Kingsbarns Distillery sits on the rugged Fife coast of Scotland, just a short drive from the legendary golfing town of St Andrews, and stands as one of the more compelling modern additions to the Lowlands whisky landscape. The project began with a dream nurtured by local caddie Todd Wight and was ultimately realised through the backing of the Wemyss Malts family, who oversaw the meticulous restoration of a historic farm steading in 2014. The distillery's tall, copper-rich pot stills encourage a light, fragrant spirit characteristic of the Lowlands tradition — one defined by floral grace, fresh orchard fruit and a gentle creaminess. The Dream to Dram expression, which introduced the distillery to a wider audience, embodies these qualities with notes of green apple, vanilla, and soft toffee. Kingsbarns represents not merely a commercial venture but a deeply local story: a community reclaiming a craft tradition and weaving it into the coastal fabric of Fife.
