Invergordon

Highlands, Scotland · 1959'den beri

Invergordon is a grain whisky distillery situated on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in Ross-shire, in the northern Scottish Highlands. Established in 1959, it quickly grew into one of Scotland's largest grain whisky producers, employing the continuous column still method to yield a spirit notable for its lightness and approachability. For decades, Invergordon grain whisky formed a quiet but essential backbone in numerous blended Scotch expressions, seldom appearing under its own name. Yet it is in the guise of single grain bottlings — particularly those aged for 30, 40, or even 50 years — that Invergordon truly reveals its character: soft vanilla, coconut cream, toasted oak, and a subtle sweetness that belies its industrial scale of production. Now operating under the Whyte & Mackay umbrella, the distillery remains one of the highest-capacity grain spirit facilities in Europe, a reminder that grain whisky, given time and patience, can rival any malt in complexity and elegance.
