Indri is a single malt whisky produced by Piccadily Distilleries, located in the town of Indri in Haryana, northern India. Launched in 2021, the brand quickly carved out an international reputation, most notably when it was crowned the World's Best Whisky in Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2023 — a recognition that sent waves through the global whisky community and put Indian single malt firmly on the map. The distillery harnesses the subcontinent's warm climate to accelerate maturation, drawing rich flavors from the cask in a fraction of the time required in cooler Scottish or Irish conditions. The flagship expression, Trini, takes its name from the triple-cask maturation process involving ex-bourbon barrels, PX Sherry casks, and Apera (Australian Sherry) casks, resulting in a whisky of notable complexity. Expect luscious notes of tropical fruit, dried apricot, baking spices, and a gentle oakiness on the finish. Indri represents a new chapter in Indian whisky — one defined by craft ambition and an unmistakable sense of place.
