Hibiki, meaning 'harmony' or 'resonance' in Japanese, is a name that captures the very soul of this blended whisky. Launched by Suntory in 1989, Hibiki is crafted by harmonising malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries with grain whisky from Chita, bringing together distinct regional characters under one roof. The blend rests in a variety of cask types — American white oak, Spanish oak, and the rare Japanese Mizunara oak — each lending a different dimension to the final spirit. Mizunara casks are particularly prized for the sandalwood, incense, and coconut nuances they impart, giving Hibiki an unmistakably Japanese character. The 21 Year Old expression has garnered numerous international accolades, cementing Hibiki's reputation as one of the world's finest blended whiskies. The signature 24-faceted bottle is itself a work of art, referencing the 24 seasons of the Japanese lunar calendar.
