Gordon & MacPhail traces its roots back to 1895, when it opened as a grocery and provisions store in Elgin, in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. Founded by James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail, the business swiftly evolved into one of the world's most respected independent bottlers of Scotch whisky. Under the stewardship of the Urquhart family for over a century, the company has also grown into a producer in its own right through its ownership of the Benromach Distillery.
