Glenturret holds a proud claim as one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries, with roots stretching back to 1763 — and possibly further, into the era of illicit Highland distilling. Nestled beside the River Turret in the quiet Perthshire countryside, this small-batch distillery has long stood apart from the industrial scale of many Scotch producers. For decades it was closely associated with The Famous Grouse brand and served as a visitor experience centre, welcoming generations of whisky enthusiasts to its historic stone buildings. A significant shift came in 2019 when the Lalique Group acquired a stake, ushering in a new chapter defined by luxury craftsmanship and renewed ambition. The current single malt expressions are celebrated for their creamy texture, gentle orchard fruit, floral top notes, and the earthy warmth characteristic of the Highland style. With pot stills worked by hand and small batches monitored closely, Glenturret embodies a slower, more contemplative approach to distilling — one that honours both history and the evolving palate of the modern whisky lover.
