Glenmorangie was founded in 1843 near the town of Tain in the Northern Highlands of Scotland, and it has since become one of the most celebrated single malt distilleries in the country. The distillery is renowned for possessing Scotland's tallest pot stills, which allow only the lightest and most delicate vapours to reach the condenser, imparting a characteristic floral and fruity elegance to the spirit. Managed by a dedicated team known as 'The Sixteen Men of Tain', the craft here is steeped in both tradition and innovation. Glenmorangie pioneered the practice of wood finishing in Scotch whisky, maturing its spirit first in ex-American white oak casks before transferring it to a variety of secondary casks — including Oloroso sherry, ruby port, Burgundy, and Sauternes — to develop layers of additional complexity. The result is a range of whiskies that are approachable yet nuanced, making them ideal for those new to single malts as well as seasoned connoisseurs. Expressions such as The Original, Lasanta, Quinta Ruban, Nectar D'Or, and the prestigious Signet each tell a different chapter of the distillery's story.
