Dewar's is one of Scotland's most storied blended Scotch whisky brands, founded in 1846 by John Dewar in Perth. It was his sons, Tommy and John Alexander Dewar, who propelled the brand onto the world stage — Tommy in particular became a legendary figure in early global marketing, circumnavigating the globe to establish distribution networks in the late 19th century. The brand is celebrated for pioneering the 'Double Aged' process, in which already-blended whiskies are returned to oak casks for a further period of maturation, imparting exceptional smoothness and harmony to the final expression. Aberfeldy Distillery serves as the primary single malt heart of many Dewar's expressions. Characteristic notes of ripe orchard fruits, warm honey, vanilla, and a gentle creamy finish define the house style. Now owned by Bacardi Limited, Dewar's continues to produce a broad portfolio ranging from its iconic White Label to aged expressions at 12, 15, 18, and 25 years, maintaining its place among the world's best-selling Scotch whiskies.
