Cotswolds Distillery was founded in 2014 by Daniel Szor, a former hedge fund manager who traded the world of finance for the rolling hills and honey-stone villages of the English countryside. Nestled in the heart of one of England's most picturesque regions, the distillery set out to craft a genuinely English single malt whisky with strong local roots. Using heritage barley varieties such as Plumage Archer, grown in the surrounding farmlands, and sourcing local water, the distillery places terroir at the core of its philosophy. Maturation takes place in a combination of ex-Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry, and Bordeaux wine casks, yielding whiskies of remarkable depth — rich with dried fruit, toffee, warm spice, and floral notes. Since its first release, Cotswolds Single Malt has become one of the flagbearers of the English whisky renaissance, earning recognition at international competitions and building a devoted following. Transparency and sustainability are central values here; the distillery openly shares its production methods and strives to minimise its environmental footprint.
