Chivas Regal stands as one of the most recognised names in Scotch blended whisky, its roots reaching back to 1801 when brothers James and John Chivas opened a grocer's and wine merchant's shop in Aberdeen. The quality of their blends soon attracted royal attention, earning the warrant of Queen Victoria and cementing the brand's reputation for luxury. The 25-year-old expression launched in 1909 set a new benchmark for aged blended Scotch, and during Prohibition in the United States, Chivas bottles became some of the most coveted contraband. At the heart of each expression lies the character of Strathisla Distillery in Keith, one of the oldest continuously operating distilleries in the Scottish Highlands, whose fruity, floral spirit forms the backbone of every blend. Under the stewardship of Pernod Ricard and master blender Sandy Hyslop, the house continues to craft expressions — 12, 15, 18, and 25 Year Old — that balance approachability with depth. Expect ripe apple, honey, vanilla, and gentle oak spice, with a signature smooth and lingering finish that has made Chivas Regal a byword for civilised indulgence.
