Caymus Vineyards was established in 1972 by Chuck Wagner in the Rutherford appellation of Napa Valley, California. The Wagner family had long-standing agricultural roots in the region, but it was their unwavering dedication to Cabernet Sauvignon that would ultimately place Caymus on the world wine map. The winery earned widespread acclaim when Wine Spectator named its Cabernet Sauvignon the Wine of the Year on two separate occasions — a distinction shared by very few American producers. Caymus wines are celebrated for their lush, ripe dark fruit character, velvety tannins, and a generously long finish that speaks to the warmth of Rutherford's terroir.
