Cardhu

Speyside, Scotland · 1824'den beri

Cardhu's story is one of Scotland's most compelling distilling narratives, rooted in the rugged farmlands of Speyside. John and Helen Cumming began illicit distilling on their Knockando farm as early as 1811, with Helen earning near-legendary status for her skill in turning away excise officers. When the legal licence was secured in 1824, Cardhu became one of the first distilleries in Scotland to operate within the law. Now part of the Diageo portfolio, the distillery holds a quietly pivotal role: its malt forms a cornerstone of Johnnie Walker's iconic blends, meaning Cardhu's character lives within some of the world's most recognised whiskies. As a single malt, Cardhu is approachable yet layered — light floral notes drift above a core of ripe orchard fruit, honey, and gentle spice, with a warmth that lingers softly on the finish. It represents the gentler, more elegantly sweet side of Speyside, making it a welcoming dram for those beginning their whisky journey as much as a trusted companion for seasoned enthusiasts.
