Braeval

Speyside, Scotland · 1973'den beri

Braeval distillery sits quietly in the high hills of Speyside, nestled at the foot of the Cairngorm Mountains, making it one of the most remote and elevated distilleries in Scotland. Established in 1973 by Chivas Brothers under the original name Braes of Glenlivet, the distillery was later renamed Braeval to avoid confusion with The Glenlivet. For much of its history, Braeval's spirit has served as a key contributor to the Chivas blending portfolio, which means that official single malt bottlings remain relatively rare and therefore coveted. The whisky itself is a fine example of classic Speyside character: light-bodied and graceful, with floral notes, green apple, pear, and gentle vanilla sweetness. Independent bottlers have occasionally offered expressions that showcase the distillery's understated elegance. Its isolated location and low profile in the industry lend Braeval an almost mythical quality, making it a prized discovery for those who seek out the quieter voices of Scotch whisky.
