Blanton's holds a distinguished place in bourbon history as the world's first commercially released single barrel bourbon, introduced in 1984. Produced at the storied Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, it was brought to market largely through the vision of master distiller Elmer T. Lee, who sought to honor the legacy of Albert B. Blanton — a pioneering figure who had long championed the idea of bottling whiskey from a single, hand-selected cask. Each bottle is drawn from Warehouse H, where the unique conditions of heat and airflow are said to produce an exceptionally well-rounded spirit. The iconic bottle, topped with a hand-stamped metal stopper featuring one of eight horse-and-jockey figurines, has become a collector's obsession; assembled together, the stoppers spell out 'Blanton's.' On the palate, expect rich notes of citrus, caramel, vanilla, and a gentle spice that lingers on a long, warming finish. Its global following has grown so dramatically that securing a bottle has become something of an adventure in itself.
