Ballantine's was founded in 1827 by Edinburgh grocer George Ballantine, and has grown into one of the world's best-selling blended Scotch whiskies. George's talent for selecting and blending fine grain and malt whiskies earned him widespread recognition, culminating in a Royal Warrant granted in 1895 to supply the British Royal Household. Today produced under Chivas Brothers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard, Ballantine's offers an extensive portfolio ranging from the approachable Finest to rare age-statement expressions of up to 40 years. The house style is defined by a smooth, balanced character — floral and fruity notes intertwine with vanilla, honey, and subtle citrus zest, supported by a gentle, lingering finish.
