Aultmore

Speyside, Scotland · 1896'den beri

Aultmore Distillery was founded in 1896 by Alexander Edward, nestled in the heart of Speyside near the town of Keith, Scotland. Its name derives from the Gaelic 'Allt Mòr', meaning 'big burn' or 'great stream', a nod to the water sources that have long shaped its character. For much of its history, Aultmore operated quietly in the background, supplying malt spirit to some of Scotland's most celebrated blends, most notably Dewar's. Today, under the stewardship of John Dewar & Sons, it has stepped into the spotlight with its own single malt expressions, revealing a personality that had long been hidden in plain sight. The whisky is characterized by fresh floral notes, orchard fruits such as apple and pear, gentle nuttiness, and a creamy, lingering finish. Sometimes nicknamed 'Foggie Moss' after the local landscape, Aultmore embodies the quiet elegance and understated complexity that defines the finest expressions of the Speyside style — a malt that rewards patience and attention.
