Nestled on the southern shore of Islay, Scotland, Ardbeg Distillery has been producing some of the most heavily peated single malts in the world since 1815. The distillery endured several closures throughout its history, most notably between 1981 and 1989, before being rescued by Glenmorangie in 1997 and later becoming part of the LVMH group.
