Angel's Envy was born from the vision of Lincoln Henderson, a master distiller whose decades-long tenure at Brown-Forman shaped some of America's most beloved whiskeys. In the final chapter of his storied career, Henderson partnered with his son Wes to bring something genuinely new to Kentucky bourbon — a dedication to secondary maturation in Port wine casks. The name draws from the poetic notion of the 'angel's share,' the portion of aging whiskey lost to evaporation; here, the angels are not merely sharing but envying what remains. After standard aging in new charred oak, the bourbon rests for up to a year in Ruby Port casks, emerging with layers of dried fruit, toasted vanilla, brown sugar, and a lingering warmth. Louisville's Whiskey Row, where Angel's Envy opened its full distillery in 2016, reclaimed part of its historic identity through this project. Acquired by Bacardi Limited in 2015, the brand continues to honor Henderson's legacy — who passed away in 2013 — through craft, curiosity, and an enduring commitment to finishing as an art form.
