AnCnoc is the single malt Scotch whisky produced at Knockdhu Distillery, located in the village of Knock in Aberdeenshire, on the northeastern edge of Speyside. Founded in 1894 by the Distillers Company Limited, the distillery now operates under Inver House Distillers. The name AnCnoc derives from the Scottish Gaelic 'An Cnoc', meaning 'the hill', a nod to both the surrounding landscape and the distillery's deep-rooted heritage. The soft spring waters drawn from the hills and the cool northeastern climate play a defining role in shaping the spirit's gentle, approachable character. Classic AnCnoc expressions are celebrated for their fresh orchard fruit notes — green apple, pear, and a light floral quality — underpinned by a balanced sweetness and subtle vanilla derived from oak maturation. Alongside its core range, the distillery has released limited peated expressions that introduce a smoky dimension without compromising the brand's inherent elegance. AnCnoc occupies a quietly distinguished place in the Speyside canon: not the loudest voice in the room, but one of the most consistently rewarding.
