Allt-à-Bhainne

Speyside, Scotland · 1975'den beri

Allt-à-Bhainne takes its name from the Gaelic for 'burn of the milk' and sits on the slopes of Ben Rinnes, near Dufftown in the heart of Speyside. Built in 1975 by Seagram during an era of confident industry expansion, the distillery was designed with efficiency in mind rather than individual expression. Today it operates under Chivas Brothers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard, and its spirit serves primarily as an important component in the Chivas Regal blended Scotch range. Official single malt bottlings are rare, which has made independent releases from bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail or Cadenhead's the principal means for enthusiasts to explore its character. The whisky itself tends toward a medium-bodied, fruity profile — fresh orchard fruits, gentle spice and a clean malt backbone — reflective of classic Speyside craftsmanship. Its unassuming nature belies the significant role it plays behind the scenes of some of the world's best-known blends.
