Aberlour Distillery stands in the heart of Speyside, nestled in the village of Charlestown of Aberlour along the banks of the River Spey. Founded in 1879 by James Fleming, the distillery draws its water from the Linn of Ruthrie spring, a source long associated with exceptional purity. The name itself comes from the Gaelic for 'mouth of the chattering burn,' a poetic nod to the stream that shaped its identity. Aberlour is celebrated above all for its commitment to sherry cask maturation — oloroso and Pedro Ximénez barrels lend the spirit its signature richness of dried fruit, cinnamon, dark chocolate and warming spice. The A'bunadh expression, released in batches at cask strength without chill filtration, has earned a devoted following among enthusiasts who prize raw, unadulterated character. The core range — spanning 10, 12, 16 and 18 year expressions — showcases the Speyside house style at various stages of maturation.
